Back-to-School Checklist for Dubai
Dubai mornings move fast, so the list should stay short. You want a backpack that sits high, a bottle that actually gets used, and a lunch kit that doesn’t quit by noon.
Keep the rest flexible, because each teacher will ask for extras in week one.
Think of the bag as a home base. Most families feel great because the two bottle pockets help a lot, and a chest strap stops slip. If a laptop rides along, check the sleeve size, not only the liters. Light gear means a happier walk to class.
Hydration wins the day here. Younger kids usually do fine with 500 to 750 ml. Teens often need a full liter. Pre-chill the bottle, freeze half the water if mornings are hectic, and pair it with an ice pack in the lunch bag so snacks survive the bell.
Everyday setup that works
-
backpack that fits high and light
-
Lunch bag with one ice pack
-
Water bottle sized for the day
-
Pencil case basics and a slim folder
-
Tiny PE pouch for PE days
-
Name labels on anything that wanders
First-week admin is the silent hero. Screenshot portal logins, top up the transport card, and keep an Emirates ID copy in a sleeve. Drop a spare snack and tissue pack in the front pocket. By day three you will know what to add and what to leave out.
Small packing map for smooth mornings
-
Top pocket: keys, card, small sanitizer
-
Main compartment: books or laptop sleeve, homework folder, PE pouch on PE days
-
Front pocket: pencil case, mini snack
-
Side pockets: water in one, backup in the other
Finish with two habits that save time. Lay the bag open each evening and toss things in as you remember them. Keep a grab box near the door with labels, wipes, and one spare snack. Future you will be very happy.
